Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday! It’s been a great week and I am super proud of how hard everyone has been working! The weather shifts, the pool chemicals, and the hard practices have made this week interesting for sure, but all the swimmers have rolled with it and rocked it! I am excited to see our performance at these next few meets and to get out of Block House to race at some fast pools. Next week starts our “marathon” part of the season. We will be busy but need to think about it in terms of staying strong and steady. Routine and discipline will be key! Here’s what we are looking at:

• Tuesday, October 25th - NO PRACTICE. PSAT for all 10th/11th graders. Arrive BY 8:15. Room assignments are posted around the school. Bring a calculator! 
  • 9th graders - Freshman Summit: Report to the PAC at 8:15 and make sure you have your laptop. 
  • 12th graders - Senior Summit. More info will come out in the LHS Insider from Administration.
• Wednesday, October 26th - Trunk or Treat at LHS. This is a team event and everyone needs to attend. We will need 4-5 people at a time to hand out candy and we will discuss this at practice so parents don’t have to manage this. An email was sent from the Boosters about help and needing decorations. Please check that and get back to Mrs. Hyden. 
  • THIS WEEK - Swimmers need to bring 2 large bags of candy to school and give them to Mrs. Hyden in the Library. Please do this before Wednesday.
  • Please drop off (or carpool) your swimmer by 5:45 pm (traffic will be CRAZY around the school) and pick them up right at 8:00 pm.
• Friday, October 28th - AISD meet at UT Austin. Please look at the MEET INFO sheet for times, packing lists, etc.
• Saturday, October 29th - Round Rock meet at Micki Krebsbach Pool. Please look at the MEET INFO sheet for times, packing lists, etc.
  • FOR THIS MEET - we need some parents willing to pick up our team tents and arrive early to the pool to grab us a spot. Tent real estate is a hot commodity at this meet! Please email me if you are interested in helping and I will coordinate with you.

Planning forward for November:

• Monday, October 31st - Possible NO PRACTICE. I am out of town and swimmers will have come off a lot of swimming. I will keep you posted.
• Tuesday, November 1st - Booster/Parent Meeting at LHS in the cafeteria. 7:00 pm. Please make every effort to attend. We will be discussing Aggieland travel, holiday practice and expectations, and other important information.
• Friday, November 4th - LAST HOME meet!! It will be a Sprint Meet to help qualify for TISCA and Senior Recognition. We will need one more round of setup, timers, stroke judges, and help! :-)
